Of Little Boys

What are little boys made of?

I say "no" to the snips and "no" to the snails, "yes" to the puppies,
but not to their tails......

"Yes!" to the snow and how fast we can go......

"Yes" to the sticks, toss in some stones......
and an afternoon digging for dinosaur bones!

They're made of adventures, in water and dirt......

A cute sense of humor - and an honest opinion! -  sure doesn't hurt!

I say "yes" to the sugar, and "yes" to the spice,
because this grandma "poet" thinks everything about little boys
is wonderfully nice!

Are you the parent or grandparent of a little guy you adore with all your heart? I'd love to hear what he is made of! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!

  3. Oh what a sweet poem - and what sweet little boys. We have three grandsons and they are made of energy and sweetness and curiosity and love - pep and understanding and more love. It is amazing the capacity little boys have to charm your heart and flavor your life with fun and sweetness.

  5. I love this! They are so cute and you're a great poet. I love having a son. He was my first child and I wasn't sure how I'd do with a little boy but I really love it. It's fun to do boy things!

  7. Oh, this is so darling!!! I myself had just girls, and my girls haven't started having their own yet. But all of my friends who had both girls AND boys said that their boys were by far the easiest to raise! haha I'm sure they're getting a good dose of sledding in lately, what with all the snow we've been having! Thanks so much for visiting so many of the posts. Do you know I almost bought a St. Francis statue for my garden several years ago. I waited too long (year end sale) and they were all sold out. It's on my "some day" list! Take care!!!

  8. I agree with Donna. Boys are definitely easier to raise! That's why I was given a girl. Karma ;).

  10. Hi J! I am coming over from Pamela's blog.

I have three grandchildren (I am the 'Nana') but all of them are girls! I hope someday to have a boy too, but girls are so cute. I just Facetimed with my daughter and her two little ones. My one year old granddaughter held the phone up to her ear to give me a hug. Love that!

So nice to meet another Grandma. Aren't we so blessed?

  13. Our nephew (now Mike instead of Mikey) has grown into Superman, fishing, his bike, and as many peppermints as he's allowed (his favorite candy of the moment). Your poem and photos are so adorable!

  18. My grandsons are two and 8 months. I just went to visit them. I can't wait until they are slightly bigger and we get to take them about when I visit. We live 5 hours away which is too much for me. Yours are darling or should I say handsome ;) Thanks for sharing your post @DearCreatives Theresa

  19. My three little men are made of slugs and snails and puppy dogs' tails and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the way that boys are made, the things that they like to do. They make me laugh every single day. What beautiful photos you've taken. The last one is especially gorgeous.

  20. Love the photo with their pj's and bare feet. :-) My little guy's brain is always trying to figure out how something works which keeps things interesting. And, when he repeats a conversation it is a little like the old phone game where you passed the message along and when it gets to the end it doesn't exactly sound like the same thing. LOL
